How to write a German CV

Books

Books about Germany

When I first came to Germany, a very good source of information, including addresses of major British companies in Germany, was a book called “Live & Work in Germany”. A lot of the information contained within it is still relevant today.

In 2002 a revised edition appeared, which is available at Amazon.co.uk:

Later, I obtained the Rough Guide to Germany to learn more about the different areas and towns. Even today, if I am going somewhere new I will look it up in the Rough Guide before I travel.

Dictionaries

If you are looking for a good English/German dictionary, I recommend the Langenscheidt Handwörterbuch.

This is an excellent dictionary if you are studying German, but it’s too big to carry around with you. In this case, I recommend the pocket edition from Langenscheidt. However, this is not available at amazon.co.uk, so you would have to buy it in Germany or order it from amazon.de

Books to read

Reading German fiction can be a great help to learning the language, especially if you have already read the book in English.

How about trying Harry Potter in German?
