The Nativity Scene at the Roundabout

Each year the fountain in the middle of the roundabout at the end of the Hohemarkstraße in Oberursel, known as the “Homm-Kreisel” but officially also as the “Alte Leipziger Brunnen”, is turned into a nativity scene with lights that are officially turned on just before the Christmas Market opens.

New figures are added each time a sponsor is found, and tradition has it that the donkey is positioned so that it is looking towards Stierstadt where the its sponsor lives.
