61-year-old missing person

Christiane RuhlPolice are asking for assistance in finding Christiane Ruhl, a 61-year-old resident of “Haus Altkönig” in Oberursel.

She was last seen on Monday, 27th October, 2014 at 4pm by an employee of the kiosk “Am Rahmtor/Schulstraße”.

Frau Ruhl is 1.60m tall, of normal build and has short dark hair with grey strands in it.  She is reported to be disoriented and in danger of suffering from an epileptic fit.  As such, she requires urgent medical assistance and medication.

The photo shows Frau Ruhl in 2006, although her appearance has changed somewhat since then.  She currently does not wear glasses and her teeth are said to be in a considerably worse condition.  Her general appearance is described as unkempt.

Anyone who has seen her is asked to call detectives in Bad Homburg on 06172 1200.

Wild animals on the Kanonenstrasse

About €9,200 of damage are estimated to have been caused when a 29-year-old driver braked to avoid hitting wild animals on the Kanonenstraße.

The driver was travelling along the road towards Oberursel in his Mitsubishi at around 5.20am on Thursday, 30th October, 2014, when he noticed a herd of wild animals standing on the road.  He braked so hard, that the car skidded and hit the crash barrier.

Car park hours extended this weekend

The car parks in Oberursel will be open on Friday 31st October, Saturday 1st Novmeber and Sunday 2nd November between 6.30am and 1am due to the Halloween and Martin’s Market events taking place in the town.

Registry office closed on Tuesday

The registry office (“Standesamt”) and the town hall department for cemeteries will be closed on Tuesday, 4th November, 2014 due to training.

3,000 step walk for senior citizens in Stierstadt

To take part, be at the bus stop “Altes Rathaus” in Stierstadt at 3pm.

Book flea market at the library

The library is located at one end of the market square in Oberursel, in the Eppsteinerstraße.

The nearest car parks are “Bleiche” and in the Holzweg. The nearest train station is Altstadt (U3).

Take a tour of Oberursel’s old town

The tour starts in front of the Vortaunusmuseum at the Marktplatz at 2pm and costs €3 per person.

Tuesday night cinema at Bluebox Portstraße

As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. For Tuesday, 28th October, 2014, we are told that it will be a “bestseller adaptation”. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.

The showing starts at 9pm.
