B456 closed this morning, one dead

The B456 road connecting Oberursel with Bad Homburg was closed this morning, Tuesday, 4th July, 2017, after an accident.
A 73-year-old man from Hanau was driving his BMW towards Dornholzhausen when, near the Oberstedten exit, he hit the oncoming traffic, first hitting a VW driven by a 60-year-old man. The VW hit the crash barrier and bounced back onto the road.
Meanwhile the BMW continued on the left-hand side of the road and hit another VW, driven by a 26-year-old woman from Bad Homburg, head on. Both drivers were stuck in their vehicles and had to be freed by the emergency services.
The 73-year-old was unconscious at the scene and later died in hospital. The 26-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries, although these are not said to be life-threatening.
Three ambulances, two emergency doctors and a number of police and the fire brigade all attended. The road was closed from 7am until 9.30am, causing a considerable amount of traffic to travel through Bad Homburg instead.
