Discuss the future of the station area

There will be a chance to discuss the future of the station area, the “Bahnhofsareal”, with other citizens of Oberursel on Wednesday, 4th December, 2013 at 7pm in the town hall (Rathaus) where a “Bürgerdialog” is being held.

The area concerned stretches from the flyover at the “Drei Hasen” to the end of the Nassauer Straße which may later join up with the “Weingärtenumgehung”.

During the evening the town’s administration will be informing the people of Oberursel about the current concept for the flow of traffic in the area and giving them a chance to put forward their own opinions about it.

The area concerned stretches from the flyover at the “Drei Hasen” to the end of the Nassauer Straße which may later join up with the “Weingärtenumgehung”.

Medicine may have caused Blackout and accident

An accident at the “Drei Hasen” on Wednesday morning (6th February, 2013) may have been caused by the 75-year-old drive suffering a “blackout” after taking some form of medicine.

The Audi A6 crashed on the Homburger Landstraße whilst travelling towards Bad Homburg at high speed and without braking into a Mercedes Vito on the right-hand lane to Bommersheim.

Although the car was severely damaged, the Audi driver continued on his way and only stopped when he reached the “Zeilweg”.  From their he called the police himself.

His driving license was confiscated.  The damage is estimated at around €17,000.

Baroness Bertha von Suttner was an Austrian pacifist and the first woman to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

A road in the “Drei Hasen” area of Oberursel that will become a business park has been named in her honour.

Willy-Brandt-Straße

Willy-Brandt-Straße in Oberursel

Willy Brandt (SPD) was born Herbert Ernst Karl Frahm in 1913.  He was the West German Chancellor between 1969 and 1974 and awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1971.  He died in 1992.

Recently a new road in the “Drei Hasen” area of the Oberursel has been named after him.  The Willy-Brandt-Straße.
