84 year old woman bitten by dog

A 84-year-old woman was injured in the Karl-Hermann-Flach-Straße on Wednesday, 10th January, 2018 at around 5pm when she was bitten by a dog that was not on a lead. Not only did she suffer a number of bites, but also injured her pelvis resulting in her being taken to hospital where she was kept in for treatment.

Her dog, a Havenese, was also attacked and underwent an emergency operation at an animal clinic.

Police have since found out that that the dog that attacked them was a Romanian sheepdog, that belonged to a 72-year-old man from Frankfurt. The dog had been left on a fenced-property on the end of Oberursel, where he had left it at around 4pm. It is not yet clear how the dog got out, but apparently it was shot by police shortly after they arrived at the scene. The owner is now being investigated for assault through negligence and police are asking for witnesses who saw the dog before the attack took place to call them on 06171 62400.
