Seniorentreff Open Day at the Hessentag

The Seniorentreff “Altes Hospital” was open to the public last weekend as part of the Hessentag in Oberursel.  It is normally a place for senior citizens to go to find support and take part in activities.

Outside the building, staff were making and selling waffles, whilst inside a flea market was taking place nd the creative group were demonstrating their sells.

With the help of many volunteers, the centre puts on a wide programme of events, some of which take place on a weekly basis such as dancing, chess, skat, and gymnastics.

In addition to the weekly programme, the volunteers also organise walks and trips and hold a flea market on the second Saturday of each month.

Special guest at the open day was “Martha”, who was out in the garden entertaining the visitors in typical Hessian dialect.
