A weekend in Madrid

I have just come back from a weekend in Madrid, taking part in the Great Madrid Escape.

Friday morning I took an early flight from Frankfurt airport to Madrid-Barrajas, and then travelled in on the metro to the city centre to find my hotel, after which I went to the first meeting point where I met Ben and Marina from NotesfromSpain.com for the first time, along with other members of the NotesfromSpain forum.

Due to the weather, I spent most of my time in cafés and shops when we weren’t all meeting up to eat together. There were some really good meals (shame about the cod…) at prices that would put some restaurants in Frankfurt to shame.

On Saturday afternoon I came a across a demonstration taking part through the middle of the city, protesting against neo-nazis in Madrid but also against the Spanish Royal Family! Many passers-by took note and were listening to the speeches being made at the Puerta del Sol.

Nachnahme

If you order goods in Germany, eg. by telephone or on-line, then you have a number of different ways of paying for them.

Sending the goods Per Nachnahme means that, for a small fee, the goods are dispatched and you pay for them at the door. The postman collects the amount owed and this is transferred to the seller’s account.

The advantage is that the seller can send off the goods immediately, the disadvantage is that you have to have sufficient funds at home to pay for them.

A new website for family therapy

Today a new website for family therapy went online.

Based in the south-west corner of Germany (Horb and Tübingen), Walter Gutjahr is a family therapist who is specialised on so-called “systematic family therapy”.

In 1986 he received official recognition as a state educator, in 1984 he opened his own practice and works as a freelancer offering courses for day-carers and babysitters.

In the last few years he has offered workshops on “family sculptures” and held seminars for lectures for the “Förderkreis für Ganzheitsmedizin Bad Herrenalb e.V.“.

His new homepage is online at www.walter-gutjahr.de
