New playground at the Maasgrundweiher

One of the projects at the Hessentag in Oberursel that will remain standing after the event is the new playground at the Maasgrundweiher – a lake located on the outskirts of the town.

One of the traditions of the Hessentag is for the state of Hesse to finance a project that will benefit a community in the long term.

Win a pack of Pringles at the Hessentag

Visitors to the Hessentag in Oberursel who get off their train at the Altstadt station (formerly Portstraße) have the chance to win a pack of Pringles crips.

To do this, they have to knock over a pile of cans, except they are not the ordinary tin cans that you see at other events.  These are Pringles cans.

And you do not through a ball either.  Instead you have something that is a cross between a tennis racket and a large bag.  You pull it back and then release, using the sight on the top to aim the air that is released at the cans.

It’s not easy!

Pillow Fight Club at the Hessentag

The band “Pillow Fight Club” were performing on the Musikhaus Taunus stage in the Portstraße at the Hessentag this evening.

Whilst waiting for our U-Bahn to arrive, we were able to listen to their new song “Leave this town, Jowell”.
