Lanzarote Guidebook – Herbstausgabe

Eine neue Ausgabe von einem unserer Lieblingsbücher über Lanzarote – das englischsprachige Lanzarote Guidebook ist nun bereit zum herunterladen.

Es geht um die Monate von September bis November und enthält ausführliche Informationen über Veranstaltungen die auf der Insel stattfinden und außerdem die wie üblich aktuellen Informationen über das Urlaubsgebiet, Orte wo man hingehen und Dinge die man sich ansehen kann.

Der Reiseführer ist abgerundet mit Informationen wie Öffnungszeiten, Notrufnummern und ist frei erhältlich auf der Insel in einem praktischen Taschenformat, am Informationsschalter auf der Ankunftsebene im Flughafen zum Beispiel.

The Bommersheim Tram Depot

Last week the tram depot in Bommersheim (now used to store trains for the U-Bahn) opened its doors to the public for the first time, to allow a small number of people to take a guided tour.

I was able to join one of the tours, and consider myself very lucky because the restrictions in place meant that not just anyone could take part.

Before we started, we were briefed on where and what we could do inside the depot.  The running lines, which link to the depot, were in normal use with trains passing us at close range at about 50kmh.  Inside the engine shed there are pits, used for access to the undercarriages, which posed a danger.  Levers and controls, although not themselves unsafe, were covered with grease that would be difficult to wash out of clothing.

Lanzarote Guidebook – Autumn Edition

A new edition of one of our favourite books about Lanzarote – the Lanzarote Guidebook – is now available to download.

Covering the months of September through to November, it contains details of events taking place on the island, as well as the usual up-to-date information about the resorts, places to go and things to see.

The guide is rounded off with information on opening times and emergency phone numbers, and is distributed free of charge on the island in a handy pocket format, at the information desk on the arrivals level at the airport, for example.
