Support the Hessentag with a flag

Oberursel and Hessentag flagsYes, there was I time when I did not think I would be writing a post entitled “support the Hessentag”!

But after months of seeing the usual range of merchandising products for the Hessentag, it is refreshing to see some new ideas.  Today, it is the turn of the flags.

Oberursel has suddenly started putting up flags all over the place, the first ones I saw were on the Hohemarkstraße heading into town from the new Taunus Information Centre.  There are flags with the town’s crest on them and others with the Hessentag logo.

It was while I was wondering how many were actually going to go up in the town centre, when I found out that smaller versions were on sale at the Rathaus for people to put up at home.

They cost €5 each and are 60x40cm in size, although the Oberursel flag is also available in 120×90 for €9, and people are encouraged to decorate they house, garden, fence, or anything else with them.

So we might see whole streets lined with yellow and white flags during the Hessentag.  I wonder if we will?

The flags are available at the Ticket- and Infocentre in the Rathaus until Thursday between 8am and 1pm, and between 2pm to 6pm.  During the Hessentag they will on sale from 8am to 6pm.
