Have you got your tickets for the Hessentag yet?

A ticket billboard in OberurselIt was announced this week, that the record for the number of tickets sold for events at a Hessentag had been broken, when Oberursel passed the 120,000 mark – beating the previous record set by Homburg (Efze) in 2008.

This is maybe not surprising considering the number of big names coming to the town during the Hessentag, and with most of the marketing effort so far going into selling exactly those tickets.

Anyone interested in buying the remaining tickets can do so online at the Hessentag ticket shop, or in the Oberursel Rathaus at the Ticket- and Infocentre. For each concert there are usually two prices given, the “Vorverkauf” and the “Abendkasse”. [Read more…]

The Hessentag will soon be upon us

The rear of Oberursel's main stationThe Hessentag in Oberursel is exactly 3 weeks away, and after suffering roadworks in the town for the past couple of years we are now entering the final phrase.

Further roads are now being closed off to enable the stages for the concerts to be erected, and the area around the main station looks more like a building site than ever, despite the U-Bahn part re-opening at the beginning of the week.

The new underground passage is not finished and the station building is still surrounded by scaffolding, with access to the platforms via a back entrance.

The road that goes past the station – recently re-opened – is about to be closed again in one direction until 24th June (Nassauer Straße, between the Feldbergstraße and Berliner Straße). [Read more…]

British Corner Shop

Eine weitere Möglichkeit, online britische Leckereien zu erstehen, gibt es auf der Seite British Corner Shop oder kurz BCS. Diese Seite lässt britische Herzen und auch viele andere höher schlagen, denn man kann laut Homepage, aus ca. 8000 Produkten auswählen. Viele beliebte Marken sind im Shop erhältlich und wenn man etwas spezielles sucht findet man es bestimmt. Die Produkte werden übersichtlich dargestellt und beim Klick darauf beschrieben. Was ich etwas schade dabei finde, ist, dass mehr Werbung für das Produkt gemacht wird, als dass das Produkt beschrieben wird. So fehlt zum Beispiel eine Zutaten-liste und der Grundpreis des Produkts.

Die Auswahl der Lebensmittel ist dafür umso größer, allein Marmalade gibt es von einigen Herstellern, ebenso bei Lemon Curd und bei Schokolade und Keksen sowieso 😉 [Read more…]
