Volker Bouffier in the Hessentag nature park

On Wednesday (15th June) I was at the Maasgrund in Oberursel to join the press pack for Ministerpräsident Volker Bouffier’s tour of the nature park “Der Natur auf der Spur”.

Accompanied by his wife, Ursula, he first visited the National Park Kellerwald-Edersee’s stand, where he was interested in how the local population accepted the rules of the park.

Moving on to the forestry office for Königstein, he discussed the area that they covered and the topic of sustainability.

Entering the tropical tent...

It was in the tropical tent that the “Year of the Forest” and the collaboration with schools was explained to him, before leaving through a celtic Zangentor (inturned gateway) to see celtic jewellery being made.

Continuing through the kitchen demonstration area, he joined the staff there for a class of milk, before going back outside to share a glass of sparkling apple wine (Apfelsekt) with the Landfrauen, before returning to his car.
