This is sort of a personal plea on my part, but I think I can speak for a lot of the residents in Oberursel who do not live in the closed-off part of the town by asking all visitors who come by car not to park:
- on private property
- on a private car park, eg. where you see the sign “Privatparkplatz”
- across the entrance to a garage, a drive, or a private car park
If you do, then you run the risk of having your car towed away and being charged for the privilege.
But since many people do not even have a private space to park their car when they get home from work and are dependent on finding one at the roadside, parking on one of those is not going to be popular either. After all, that is what the Hessentag car parks are for.
They may cost €5 per day, but that includes a ticket for up to 5 people to use public transport in and around the town as well. If you park on the road and buy the same ticket at the train station it costs €6, so why bother?
