
Franzoseneck, Oberursel
The Franzoseneck is located in the woods behind the Hohe Mark Klinik at the northern end of Oberursel. After living here for so many years, it was a place that I had only ever heard about until now.
Apparently the name comes from the fact that there was a French control point here between 1919 and 1924, although another rumour is that it is because there were French troops nearby in 1792.
With 1st May being a public holiday and the traditional cycle race moved to a later date, we went for a walk to find it.
The playground with the tractor
The “Traktorspielplatz” in Niederhöchstadt (part of Eschborn) has a lot to offer. Water games, football goals, zip wires, a table-tennis table, fitness apparatus, tables with benches, toilets, even a tractor:
