Franzoseneck, Oberursel

The Franzoseneck is located in the woods behind the Hohe Mark Klinik at the northern end of Oberursel. After living here for so many years, it was a place that I had only ever heard about until now.

Apparently the name comes from the fact that there was a French control point here between 1919 and 1924, although another rumour is that it is because there were French troops nearby in 1792.

With 1st May being a public holiday and the traditional cycle race moved to a later date, we went for a walk to find it.
