Snow

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

Last night we had 20-30cm of fresh snow fall – I even used the bus to get to my appointment this morning as the cars are snowed it on the car park!

Here are a couple of photos that I took whilst out in Oberursel:

Winter in Germany

Monday, January 18th, 2010

With Germany experiencing the coldest winter for 13 years we decided to change our plans for the weekend and took our sledge out instead.

This gave us not only a rare chance to go sledging on the hills of Camp King, but also to talk about some of the things that German residents – and possibly long-term visitors – need to know about: Winter tyres, snow-clearing duty and a lack of salt.

First snow of the winter

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

For the best part of last week we were being told in the weather forecast that snow was on the way for the weekend.

Well, it arrived Friday night, and snowed through most of Saturday and this evening (Sunday) there has been even more.  There was a beautiful sight out of my office window this evening – with the yellow street lamp lighting up the fresh snow.

No photo of that, unfortunately.  But some from the rest of the weekend:
