Frankfurter Landstraße One-Way

Commuters travelling from Oberursel and the surrounding area to Frankfurt face delays due to roadworks that started today in the Frankfurter Landstraße.

To allow the area opposite the U-Bahn station “Bommersheim” to be re-developed,  new utility pipes are being laid and the road will be widened to allow for a lane for traffic turning off into the new site.

Whilst the work is going on, the Frankfurter Landstraße is going to be a one-way street towards Oberursel.  Traffic travelling towards Frankfurt will be diverted along the Zimmersmühlenweg and the Ludwig-Erhard-Straße.

Traffic from Frankfurt heading for the industrial estate at the Zimmersmühlenweg or Tabaksmühlenweg will also be diverted along the Ludwig-Erhard-Straße, as the Tabaks-Mühlen-Weg will be a dead end where it joins the Frankfurter Landstraße.

Pedestrians, cyclists, bus services and the U-Bahn are not affected by the roadworks.

Motorists whose journeys do not start in Oberursel are asked to avoid the area, for example by using the motorway A661 which runs parallel to the road.

The roadworks are set to stay in play until the end of 2017.
