A guided walk entitled “Auf den Spuren jüdischen Lebens in Oberursel” (Traces of Jewish life in Oberursel) is being offered on Sunday, 4th May, 2014 by historian Angelika Rieber.
The tour starts at 2.30pm at the fountain on the Marktplatz and costs 3EUR per person.
Tuesday night is film night at Bluebox Portstraße, located near the U-Bahn stop “Altstadt”.
As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. For Tuesday, 29th April, 2014, we are told that it will be a documentary. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.
The showing starts at 9pm.
The tower of St.Ursula’s Church in Oberursel will be open to the public on Saturday, 3rd May, 2014 between 3pm and 5pm.
The tower contains a museum, the belfry and there is also access to the roof where you can get a breathtaking view across the town and its neighbours.
Entry costs €1.50 for adults and €1.00 for children.
There will be a book flea market in Oberursel’s library on Saturday, 3rd May, 2014 between 10am and 1pm with proceeds going to the library’s supporters’ association.
The library is located at one end of the market square in Oberursel, in the Eppsteinerstraße.
The nearest car parks are “Bleiche” and in the Holzweg. The nearest train station is Altstadt (U3).
The Altkönigstraße will be closed from Friday, 2nd May until Saturday, 17th May, 2014 between the Theodor-Heuss-Straße and Borkenberg to allow for work on underground pipes to take place.
Traffic will be diverted along the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Straße, Kleiststraße and Brüder-Grimm-Straße.
The buses will, however, be able to follow their normal route.
A tour of the old town (Altstadt) part of Oberursel is being offered on Saturday, 3rd May, 2014 at 2pm.
The tour starts in front of the Vortaunusmuseum at the Marktplatz at 2pm and costs €3 per person.
Congratulations to Frau Erika Fischer in Oberursel who is 90 years old today.
A disco entitled “Tanz in den Mai” (dance into May) is being held in the dance school “Tanzschule Pritzer” in the old station building on Wednesday, 30th April, 2014.
The music will be mixed by DJ Param.
Entry is from 9pm and costs 8 Euro.
