The flea market in Oberursel was started in 1971 by Dr. Christoph Müllerleile (1st on left) als chairman of the “Jugendring”. The chair was later held by (from left to right) Wilfried Grünwald (73-74), Reinhard Cimiotti (73), ans Hans-Georg Brum (75-76 + 78).
It was the latter that moved the flea market from the Holzweg to its current location in the Adenauerallee.
They met up again at the flea market on Saturday, 16th October, 2021 for the 50th anniversary.
Hans-Georg Brum, who left office on Thursday, not only cleared out his desk but also his wardrobe this week, selling off his collection of ties from the past 18 years at the flea market in the Adenauerallee.
Proceeds will be donated to the new “communication centre” in the Strackgasse, where a number of charities will be based in future.
The monthly flea market in the Adenauerallee in Oberursel will resume on Saturday, 17th July, 2021 between 7am and 1pm. The number of stands has been reduced, and visitors should obverse social distancing rules and not form groups.
The flea market starts at the end of the pedestrian zone and continues the length of the Adenauerallee and over the railway lines towards Bommersheim. One part also takes place in the Nassauer Straße next to the U-Bahn tracks.
To get there by train take either the line U3 or S5 to Oberursel’s main station.
The monthly flea market in the Adenauerallee in Oberursel will take place on Saturday, 15th December, 2018 between 7am and 1pm.

The nearest car parks are “Bleiche” and in the Holzweg. The nearest train station is Altstadt (U3).
There will be a large book flea market in Oberursel’s library between Wednesday, 14th and Saturday, 17th November, 2018 with proceeds going to the library’s supporters’ association.
This market takes place on the 1st floor and has a larger selection of books than the monthly one, so there are usually foreign-language books there as well.
