No charcoal fires at the carnival procession

Sausages being cooked on a mobile barbecueCharcoal fires, as used by some organisations, are not going to be allowed at the carnival procession in Oberursel this year.

Their use has been banned as a precaution, as the sparks that they produce may set fire to the light-weight clothing and wigs that many spectators and participants wear.

Anyone wishing to use a fire, eg. a barbecue, as part of their float is advised to use a gas flame or cooker instead.
