A tour entitled “Das keltische Leben am Fuße des Feldbergs” (celtic life at the foot of the Feldberg) is being held on Saturday, 9th May 2015 at 2pm.
The tour starts at the Taunus Information Centre and costs €5 per person, those taking part should have sturdy footwear.
The music group “Germania 1873 Weißkirchen/Ts e.V.” are holding their spring festival on Saturday, 9th May, 2015 at 2pm at the sports hall of the “TV Weißkirchen”, which is located at Oberurseler Straße 16.
Among the groups singing will be the pop and jazz choir “Tontauben”.
This year sees a rather unusual election take place. Apart from electing a new Mayor on 21st June, 2015, Oberursel will also be holding elections for all 9 seats on the Ausländerbeirat – the foreigners’ advisory council.
The election itself will take place on Sunday, 29th November, 2015 and for the first time it will be possible to apply for a postal vote. But for now, the town are looking for candidates and are holding an information evening for anyone interested on Wednesday, 6th May at 6pm in the town hall. [Read more…]
Tuesday night is film night at Bluebox Portstraße, located near the U-Bahn stop “Altstadt”.
As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. For Tuesday, 5th May, 2015, we are told that it will be a “New German Film”. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.
The showing starts at 9pm.
The musikhalle portstrasse is holding a “Friday night Jam Session” on Friday, 8th May, 2015 at 8pm.
Entry is free.
The “musikhalle” is located opposite the U-Bahn station “Altstadt” on the U3 line.
The Seniorentreff in the “Altes Hospital” (Hospitalstraße 9) will be holding a breakfast buffet on Friday, 8th May, 2015 between 9am and 11am.
To take part, register in advance by calling 06171 585333 and leave a message on the answerphone if necessary by Tuesday the week before.
The Seniorentreff in Oberursel will be offering an afternoon of Bingo on Thursday, 7th May, 2015 between 2.30pm and 4.30pm in the “Altes Hospital” (Hospitalstraße 9).
