Tyre thieves caught in Frankfurt

Two men are accused of stealing a complete set of tyres from an Audi A5 in the early hours of Monday morning (25th January, 2016) in the Mauerfeldstraße in Weißkirchen.  The car was left on wooden blocks.

A witness spotted the theft take place at around 1.15am and called the police.  A short time later, a similar theft was reported in nearby Königstein, with the vehicle used to transport the tyres fitting the description of the one from Weißkirchen.  Armed with the registration number, police were able to look for it specifically and found it in Frankfurt in the Rebstock area at 2am.

The vehicle, a silver van, contained two sets of high-value tyres, one of which was the set from the Mauerfeldstraße.  The two suspects, aged 39 and 45, were arrested.  Both are of no fixed abode and were presented to the custody judge the same afternoon.
