Oberursel’s outdoor pool is 80 years old

Oberursel’s outdoor pool, the “Freibad”, was opened 80 years ago in June 1937.  Originally called the “Schwimm-, Licht- und Luftbad”, the buildung work took three years to complete.  But it was a long way from the original concept in 1862 until the town made the funds available in 1928 and approved for the water to be taken from the town’s fountains.  Before the swimming pool was built, the site was a gravel pit.

The birthday party is set to take place on Whitmonday, 5th June, 2017.

Doors open at 11am with games for children in the indoor pool and aqua-fitness outside in the non-swimmers’ pool.

The band Let The Butterfly will be playing throughout the afternoon.

The normal entry fee applies.
