The Seniorentreff in the “Altes Hospital” (Hospitalstraße 9) will be holding a breakfast buffet on Friday, 18th May 2018 between 9am and 10.30am, with food and drink costing €6 per person.
To take part, register in advance by calling 06171 585333 and leave a message on the answerphone if necessary.
The Verbraucherzentrale (consumers’ association) will be offering individual energy saving consultations in the Rathaus in Oberursel on Thursday, 17th May 2018.
Appointments cost €5 for 30 minutes, and €2.50 for each 15 minutes after that. They need to be arranged in advance by calling 06171 502-310.
Tuesday night is film night at Bluebox Portstraße, located near the U-Bahn stop “Altstadt”.
As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. For Tuesday, 17th May, 2018, we are told that it will be a French comedy. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.
The showing starts at 9pm.
A 3,000 step walk for senior citizens is taking place in Weißkirchen on Wednesday, 16th May 2018.
To take part, be at the “Altes Rathaus” (Urselbachstraße 59) at 9.30am.

During their annual open day on Sunday, 6th May, 2018, Oberursel’s fire brigade in the Marxstraße officially took delivery of their new mobile command vehicle, with the keys being handed over by the town’s treasurer Thorsten Schorr to the town’s fire brigade inspector Holger Himmelhuber.
The Dampfbahnclub-Taunus e.V. steam railway in Oberursel will be open to the public for the first time on their new premises on Sunday, 13th May, 2018 between 10am and 5pm.
Located at the end of the Mainstraße, to get there, either leave the A661/B455 at “Oberursel-Nord” towards Oberursel, then take the first turning right into the Dornbachstraße. The Mainstraße is on the right-hand side.
By U-Bahn, take the U3 to Lahnstraße and cross the road before turning left into the Dornbachstraße.

A record number of visitors on the last day of the steam trains
A tour around the area known as the “Hohemark” is being offered on Friday, 11th May, 2018, at 2pm.
The tour will be guided by Gottfried Cramer from the Hohe Mark clinic.
It starts at the end station of the U3 line and costs €3 per person.
A tour entitled “Das keltische Leben am Fuße des Feldbergs” (celtic life at the foot of the Feldberg) is being held on Saturday, 12th May, 2018 at 2pm.
The tour starts at the Taunus Information Centre and costs €5 per person, those taking part should have sturdy footwear.
