Kamishibai Theatre performance at the library

A Kabishibai Theatre performance for children aged 3 and over will take place in Oberursel’s library on Saturday, 15th June, 2013 at 11am.

“Kabishibai” is Japanese and means “paper drama”.  A story is told using a small stage and pictures on cards inserted into it.

The story on Saturday is about Dr. Brumm (a bear) who goes for a walk with his friends the whale and the badger.  They lose their way and the weather turns bad…

The performance will last about 45 minutes and tickets costing €2 each are available at the library or by calling 06171 62870.

Book reading for children aged 5 and over

The story “Kleinen Garnix” by Mick Inkpen is being read in the library on Thursday, 6th June, 2013 at 3.30pm by volunteer Edith Nikel-Ruppmann.

Book reading for children aged between 8 and 11

Klaus Adam, a story teller and actor from Cologne, will be telling his story “Die Geschichte vom Meisterdieb” (The Story of the Master Thief) at the library in Oberursel on Thursday, 16th May, 2013 at 3.30pm.

The story is suitable for children aged between 8 and 11.

Tickets should be booked in advance at the library and cost €3 each.

Drawing course in the library for children

A drawing course for children aged between 9 and 12 is being offered in the library on Thursday, 4th April, 2013.

Charlotte Hofmann, an illustrator from Berlin, will be showing the children step-by-step how to draw the main character in Jeff Kinney’s comic series “Greg’s Tagebücher”.

There are two courses on offer, one at 2.30pm and the other at 4.30pm, with 40 places available in total.

Tickets cost €3 and can be bought at the library.

Make Easter decorations in the library

Children of primary school age will be able to make their own Easter decorations in the town library on Thursday, 14th March, 2013 between 3.30pm and 5.30pm.

A fairy tale is being read in the library on Saturday, 16th March, 2013 at 11am by volunteer Barbara Petersen.

After the reading the children will be able to make their own fairy tale mobile.
