A tour of Camp King

Camp KingOn Saturday, 25th August, 2012 there will be a tour of the area in Oberursel known as “Camp King” with local historian Manfred Kopp.

The tour covers the history of the area from the Reichssiedlungshof in the 1930s, through the time of the Dulag Luft up to the end of the U.S. Army presence in the town.

The meeting point is the corner of Elvis-Presley-Weg and Camp-King-Allee at 2pm, and the tour costs 3EUR.

This is an interesting opportunity for local residents to learn more about the history of the area that they live in.

  1. Hi Graham,

Does this sort of tour occur regularly? We are living in Camp King, just moved in 2 weeks ago. REALLY keen to do a tour such as this one. But it clashes (badly) with the FIS Welcome BBQ that we were planning on attending and with Museumsuferfest too! Please advise so I can make my plans for this Saturday.

    • Yes, the Camp King tour is approximately every 3 months.

There are other tours in the area that you may be interested in as well, such as the Altstadt tour on the first Saturday of each month.

We publish the dates here in the events section.
