The Seniorentreff in Oberursel will be holding a flea market on Saturday, 9th March, 2013 between 9am and 1pm in the “Altes Hospital” (Hospitalstraße 9).
They will also be serving coffee, tea, cold drinks, grilled sausages and home-made waffles.
A disco for over 40s is being held under the name of “TaunusDisco” in the dance school “Tanzschule Pritzer” in the old station building on Saturday, 9th March, 2013.
The music will be a mixture of current music such as “funk” and “soul”, and also some lesser-known pieces such as World Music, all mixed by DJ Param.
Entry is from 9pm and costs 8 Euro.

Blood can be donated at the Red Cross in Oberursel on Saturday, 9th March, 2013 between 1.30pm and 6pm. The Red Cross is located at Marxstraße 28, opposite the U-Bahn station “Lahnstraße”.
To donate you must be healthy and between 18 and 68 years of age. If you have not donated before, then you must not be over 60. You must take some form of identification with you, such as a passport, that contains a photo.

Tuesday night is film night at Bluebox Portstraße, located near the U-Bahn stop “Altstadt”.
As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. For Tuesday, 5th March, 2013, we are told that it will be a “comedy”. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.
The showing starts at 9pm.
A fire in an empty house in the Untere Hainstrasse caused €300,000 of damage and left the building in danger of collapse on Wednesday morning.
The alarm was raised just after 3am when a neighbour noticed the smoke in house number 13 and alerted the owner, who at first tried to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher. When he failed to do so the fire spread throughout the building and up to the roof.
The building was damaged so much, that the fire brigade declared the building in danger of collapse. Now investigators are trying to find the cause of the blaze, however their work cannot begin properly until the buildung has been made safe.
The Seniorentreff in Oberursel will be offering an afternoon of Bingo on Thursday, 7th March, 2013 between 2.30pm and 4.30pm in the “Altes Hospital” (Hospitalstraße 9).
Anyone who is interested is invited to come along and try their luck!
The Verbraucherzentrale (consumers’ association) will be offering individual energy saving consultations in the Rathaus in Oberursel on Thursday, 7th March, 2013.
Appointments cost €5 for 30 minutes, and €2.50 for each 15 minutes after that. They need to be arranged in advance by calling 06171 502-310.

The Oberursel Stadtmagazin is available for free at a many of the shops in the town and also in PDF format. 12,000 copies are printed each month. In Camp King, for example, it can be collected at either Edeka, Tabak-Carree-Rhode or Taunus Sparkasse. The article is on pages 12 and 13.
