Drunk driver hit U-Bahn railing

A car being driven by a 29-year-old woman was travelling along the Hohemarkstraße in the early hours of Sunday morning, heading towards the town centre.

On reaching the turning to “Im Heidegraben” she lost control of the vehicle and hit the railing of the U-Bahn station on the right-hand side of the road.

According to the police report she had drunk considerable alcohol, which was confirmed at the scene by a breathaliser test.  A blood sample was taken and her driving license was confiscated.

The damage is estimated at around €5,000.
