Accident on the Kanonenstraße

An accident on the Kanonenstraße between the Sandplacken and Applausekurve left one person injured and caused €9,000 of damage on Monday morning (26th May, 2014).

The 20-year-old driver of a VW Polo was travelling downhill from the Sandplacken just before 8am when her car skidded in a right-hand bend due to the road being wet.  She collided with a transporter travelling in the opposite direction, sustaining bruising and grazes in the process.

The 54-year-old driver of the Mercedes transporter was unhurt, but police closed the road off until 10.15am to allow the vehicles to be removed and the escaped fuel to be cleared up.
