Breakfast Cinema at Bluebox Portstrasse

As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. For Sunday, 29th May, 2016, we are told that it will be a Comedy. If you do want to know which film will be shown or to reserve tickets call 06171 636930.

The showing starts at 11.30am and they are located opposite the U-Bahn stop “Altstadt”.

Frankfurt International School – Worldfest 2016

Frankfurt International School held their annual Worldfest on Sunday, 22nd May, 2016, with the stands re-located to between the main building and the new sports hall.

To take part, be at the “Altes Rathaus” (Urselbachstraße 59) at 9.30am.

On the Saturday afternoon of the Fountain Festival in Oberursel, Fountain Queen Nadine I. visited the Kindermeile and had a go at the Bobby Car race.

Worldfest on Sunday

The annual Worldfest at Frankfurt International School takes place on Sunday, 22nd May, 2016 this year, between 12 noon and 4pm.

19 stands from the different countries represented at the school we be offering food and drink, with activities for children also taking place.

Please note that car parking facilities are not available at the school on this day.  There will be a shuttle service between the school, Edeka’s car park and The Rolls Royce field.

 

This weekend is Brunnenfest

This weekend sees one of the largest festivals in Oberursel take place – the fountain festival or Brunnenfest.

The event kicks off on Friday evening at 5pm with  an open-air church service at the Marktplatz followed by the official opening with Fountain Queen Nadine I.

Other highlights include the inauguration of the Urselbach Fountain on Saturday morning at Haus am Urselbach at 11am and the 5, 10 and 21.1km festival runs on Sunday morning at 10am.

For children up to the age of 10 the Kindermeile will be in the Obere Hainstraße on Saturday between 3pm and 6pm and the annual duck race on the Urselbach will be held on Sunday at 3pm with tickets being sold on Saturday in the Obere Hainstraße.

Saturday evening there will also be a talent show for the town’s youth to show what they can do from 5pm until 7pm.  The show is aptly named “Kickfactor: … and what can you do?”

The fun fair is in its usual place on the Bleiche car park as is the craft market in front of the town hall, with the closing fireworks taking place at 10.30pm on Monday evening. [Read more…]
