A tour for new residents

New residents to Oberursel will have a chance to take part in a tour of the town on Sunday, 16th October, 2016 at 3pm.

The tour starts at the Vortaunusmuseum at the top of the market square and will be led by town guide Thomas Sterzel.

The tour last about two hours and ends with a rare opportunity to see the inside of the historic town hall where the council chamber is normally not open to the public, except when it is hired out for weddings.

Children are welcome to take part and there is no need to register in advance.

Book reading for children aged between 4 and 7

The story of Theodor Terror by John A. Rowe is being read in the library on Thursday, 13th October, 2016 by volunteer Edith Nikel-Ruppmann.

Flea Market in the Adenauerallee

The monthly flea market in the Adenauerallee in Oberursel will take place on Saturday, 15th October 2016 between 7am and 1pm.

The flea market starts at the end of the pedestrian zone and continues the length of the Adenauerallee and over the railway lines towards Bommersheim. One part also takes place in the Nassauer Straße next to the U-Bahn tracks.

To get there by train take either the line U3 or S5 to Oberursel’s main station.

Donate Blood

Blood can be donated at the Red Cross in Oberursel on Friday, 14th October 2016 between 3.30pm and 8pm. The Red Cross is located at Marxstraße 28, opposite the U-Bahn station “Lahnstraße”.

To donate you must be healthy and between 18 and 68 years of age. If you have not donated before, then you must not be over 60. You must take some form of identification with you, such as a passport, that contains a photo.

Tuesday night cinema at Bluebox Portstraße

Tuesday night is film night at Bluebox Portstraße, located near the U-Bahn stop “Altstadt”.

As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. For Tuesday, 11th October 2016, we are told that it will be a Swedish film. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.

The showing starts at 9pm.
