The 7th Oberursel Feyerey was held on Saturday 1st August und Sunday 2nd August, 2015.
Saturday started with a procession of the performers and market stall holders taking part, after which the event was formally opened by Fountain Queen Christina II. and Mayor Hans-Georg Brum.
As the Brunnenmeister Jürgen did not say anything to the crowd from the stage, he was taken off to be the first person of the day to experience the water guillotine.

Wine Festival opened

The 15th Rheingau Wine Festival was opened this evening (Friday, 31st July, 2015) by Mayor Hans-Georg Brum.
He was accompanied by Fountain Queen Christina II., along with the Oestrich Wine Queen Sophie Egert, the Johannisberg Wine Queen Irene Rodschinka, Brunnenmeister Jürgen and Rheingau Wine Princess Stephanie Gönder (left to right).
Tontauben hold singing flashmob

To highlight their search for new male singers the choir “Tontauben”, who are part of the Germania group of choirs in Weißkirchen, held a singing flashmob at the fountain festival. One of the places that they sang at was on the children’s mile on Saturday afternoon.

AFN transmitters to be taken down

Between 1951 and 2013 the American Forces Network transmitted on medium wave from a set of three transmitters located between Oberursel and Frankfurt.
Having been out of service for two years they are due to be taken down today (Thursday, 23rd April, 2015) when explosives will be attached to the steel ropes and detonated at 1pm, allowing the 86m tall transmitters to fall into the neighbouring field where they will be dismantled and taken away for scrap.
The public will be required to keep at last 150m away from 12.30pm onwards.
The photo was taken on Wednesday at 4pm.
