Roadworks sign - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / RedKoalaThe Taunusstraße will be closed between the Pfaffenweg and Stierstadter Straße from Monday 16th February, 2015, until approximately mid-July, to allow for the road to be re-laid.  At the same time, one of the bus-stops will be extended and a road crossing improved.   Whilst the road is up the local electricity company are also planning to lay new cables.

Traffic will be diverted along the Pfaffenweg, Akazienstraße and Stierstadter Straße where parking restrictions will be in place.

The number 41 and 44 bus routes will also use the diversion, with the bus stop “Neugasse” being replaced by a temporary stop on the corner of the Akazienstraße an Platanenstraße.

Taunusstraße one-way until mid-May

Roadworks sign - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / RedKoalaThe Taunusstraße in Stierstadt is currently one-way between Ursemer Straße and Pfaffenweg.  Traffic travelling from the station towards Oberursel is being diverted along the Eichenstraße.

The roadworks are expected to last until 17th May, 2014, during which time the road will be re-surfaced, new pipes will be laid, and the road crossings will be upgraded to make them better accessible.

The bus routes 41, 44, 47 and 48 use the diversion in both directions.  The bus stops “Reifenberger Straße” and “Pfaffenweg” have been re-located around the corner to take this into account.

Drunken thief caught red handed

An attempt to steal a 30 litre barrel of beer on Monday morning (8th April, 2013) did not go as planned for the 29-year-old thief who, according to police, was already drunk when tried to leave the drinks store in the Taunusstraße in Stierstadt.

One of the employees of the shop unlocked the door, only for the thief to run straight into him.  Apparently he made an unsuccessful attempt to attack the employee, only to fall over whilst trying to leave via the courtyard at the rear of the building.

He was held down and handed over to police on their arrival.
