Children’s cinema in the Portstrasse

As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.

The bluebox is located opposite the U-Bahn station “Altstadt” (formerly “Portstraße”).

The “Open Air Living Room 4Rooms” at the U-Bahn station “Altstadt” (previously called Portstraße) played host to an open air party for the young people of Oberursel on Thursday evening, 29th November 2012.

The organisations Café Portstraße, Kinderhaus Camp King, Jugendtreff Oberstedten, along with the town’s youth office (Jugendbüro) and mobile youth service joined forces to offer twists, punch, sausages and music free of charge with around 30 young people from different parts of the town turning up.

Artist Judith Hildmann (aka rewadopo) provided the entertainment in the form of a fire show.

Donate Blood

Blood - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / iqonceptBlood can be donated at the Red Cross in Oberursel on Saturday, 8th December, 2012 between 1.30pm and 6pm. The Red Cross is located at Marxstraße 28, opposite the U-Bahn station “Lahnstraße”.

To donate you must be healthy and between 18 and 68 years of age. If you have not donated before, then you must not be over 60. You must take some form of identification with you, such as a passport, that contains a photo.

TaunusDisco for over 40s at Tanzschule Pritzer

Oberursel Station at night with the Taunus Disco going in insideA disco for over 40s is being held under the name of “TaunusDisco” in the dance school “Tanzschule Pritzer” in the old station building on Saturday, 8th December, 2012.

The music will be a mixture of current music such as “funk” and “soul”, and also some lesser-known pieces such as World Music, all mixed by DJ Param.

Entry is from 9pm and costs 8 Euro.
