The 8th Oberursel Feyerey was held on Saturday 6th August und Sunday 7th August, 2016.

Saturday started with a procession of the performers and market stall holders taking part, after which the event was formally opened by Fountain Queen Nadine I. and Mayor Hans-Georg Brum.

A celtic funeral pileA tour entitled “Das keltische Leben am Fuße des Feldbergs” (celtic life at the foot of the Feldberg) is being held on Saturday, 13th August, 2016 at 2pm.

The tour starts at the Taunus Information Centre and costs €5 per person, those taking part should have sturdy footwear.

 

Donate Blood

Blood - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / iqonceptBlood can be donated at the Red Cross in Oberursel on Friday, 12th August, 2016 between 3.30pm and 8pm. The Red Cross is located at Marxstraße 28, opposite the U-Bahn station “Lahnstraße”.

To donate you must be healthy and between 18 and 68 years of age. If you have not donated before, then you must not be over 60. You must take some form of identification with you, such as a passport, that contains a photo.

The wine festival is officially open

The wine festival was official opened on Friday, 5th August, 2016 by Mayor Hans-Georg Brum.

Opening the wine festival: Christian Peter, Nadine I., Hans-Georg Brum, Louisa Follrich, Sophie Egert, Tabea Klepper, Peter Seyffardt and Gerd Krämer.

With him in the photo are (from left to right): Brunnenmeister Christian Peter, Fountain Queen Nadine I., Rheingau Wine Queen Louisa Follrich, Oestrich Wine Queen Sophie Egert, Hallgarten Wine Queen Tabea Klepper, the president of the Rheingau wine growers’ association Peter Seyffardt and Town Council Chairman Gerd Krämer.

To take part, be at the bus stop “Altes Rathaus” in Stierstadt at 3pm.

To take part, be at the Christuskirche in the Oberhöchstädter Straße at 3pm.

8th Oberursel Feyerey

The middle ages will be coming to Oberursel at the weekend when the 8th annual “Feyerey” takes place on the fields next to the “Bachpfädchen”.

Over 66 market stands will offering food and drink, hand-made goods, and items such as soap and honey.

There will be games for children, fire shows, music and dancing, and even shows with birds of prey.  Click here for the times of the shows.

The event takes place on the fields between the Mühlenwanderweg and the Marxstraße.  To get there, either park on the field between the Marxstraße and the Hohemarkstraße or take the U-Bahn to “Lahnstraße”. [Read more…]

16th Rheingau Wine Festival

The 16th Rheingau Wine Festival in Oberursel is being held between Friday 5th August and Sunday 7th August 2015 on the Marktplatz.

Many of the vineyards at the festival will be familiar to those who have been before, as they have been coming for a number of years and often have their stands in the same place each year.

Visitors can expect to find selected Riesling and Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) wines from towns such as Lorch, Hattenheim, Hochheim, Giesenheim, Erbach, Johannisberg and Oestrich-Winkel.

There will also be a variety of food on offer, including Flammkuchen (Tarte Flambee) and (Zwiebelkuchen) Onion cake.

The festival will be officially opened on Friday evening at 6.30pm. [Read more…]
