Police were called to a flat in the Altkönigstraße at 11am on Monday, 24th October, 2016, where a man refused access to the flat despite a medical emergency being reported. As police believed the situation to be dangerous, a wide area was cordoned off with both orderlies from the town and the fire brigade attending.
At 4.15pm police overpowered the man in his flat and he is now receiving medical attention in a clinic.
The Ausländerbeirat in Oberursel is organising an information evening about the subject of applying for German Citizenship, which will be held in the town hall (Rathaus) on Tuesday, 15th November, 2016 at 6pm.
Thomas Krämer, who works for the Regierungspräsidium in Darmstadt – the part of local Government who ultimately decides on whether citizenship will be awarded on not – will be visiting to talk on the subject and answer questions.
A number of British Citizens in the area are already applying for dual citizenship while this option is still available to them, and this will be covered in the course of the evening as well.

The Seniorentreff in Oberursel will be holding a Stammtisch on Friday, 28th October 2016 between 5pm and 8.30pm in the “Altes Hospital” (Hospitalstraße 9).
The Stammtisch is a place to discuss anything and everything that those attending wish to.
A charge of €7 per person will be made to cover the cost of food and drink and due to the limited number of places reservation by telephone (06171 585333) is requested.
Friday night is music night at Musikhalle Portstraße, located near the U-Bahn stop “Altstadt”.
On Friday, 28th October, 2016, another “Newcomer TV Night” is being held.
Doors open at 8pm for a 8.30pm start and entry costs €2.
Roadworks in the Kolberger Straße in Weißkirchen will mean that the road becomes a no-through-road between Friday, 21st October and Friday, 4th November, 2016.
Work on the gas and water mains in front of house numbers 8-10 will mean that vehicles will not be able to pass this point. Pedestrians and cyclists will, however, be able to pass.
The Seniorentreff in Oberursel will be offering a 3,000 step walk on Wednesday, 26th October, 2016.

To take part, be at the bus stop “Altes Rathaus” in Stierstadt at 3pm.
Tuesday night is film night at Bluebox Portstraße, located near the U-Bahn stop “Altstadt”.
As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. For Tuesday, 25th October, 2016, we are told that it will be a “political thriller”. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.
