A 3,000 step walk for senior citizens is taking place in Stierstadt on Tuesday, 13th February 2018.
To take part, be at the bus stop “Altes Rathaus” in Stierstadt at 3pm.
The Verbraucherzentrale (consumers’ association) will be offering individual energy saving consultations in the Rathaus in Oberursel on Thursday, 15th February 2018.
Appointments cost €5 for 30 minutes, and €2.50 for each 15 minutes after that. They need to be arranged in advance by calling 06171 502-310.
Having successfully taken over the town hall last Saturday, Prince Karsten I. moved into the Mayor’s office on Thursday where he intends to run things until Ash Wednesday.

Sunday afternoon sees the annual carnival procession take place in Oberursel, with the usual number of large crowds expected.
The procession will form in the Altkönigstraße and then leave from “Am Rahmtor” at 2.11pm before crossing the Marktplatz and entering the Eppsteiner Str.
On reaching the “Homm-Kreisel” it will turn into the Holzweg and cross the Epinayplatz before entering the Henchenstraße, at the end of which it will turn into the Liebfrauenstraße. [Read more…]
Tuesday night is film night at Bluebox Portstraße, located near the U-Bahn stop “Altstadt”.
As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. For Tuesday, 13th February, 2018, we are told that it will be a German comedy. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.
The showing starts at 9pm.
The story “Billy und der Bösewicht” by Catharina Valck is being read in the library on Thursday, 8th February, 2018 at 4pm by volunteer Edith Nikel-Ruppmann.
Tickets cost €2 and should be reserved in advance in the library or by calling 06171 62870.
The Rathaussturm when the carnival prince takes over the town hall took place on Saturday morning. Prince Karsten I. was accompanied by the KinderPrinzenPaar (Children’s prince and princess) Annika I. and Justus I. from the market place to the town hall, where he took over the key from Mayor Hans-Georg Brum:

The Seniorentreff in Oberursel will be offering a 3,000 step walk on Wednesday, 7th February 2018.
To take part, be at the Christuskirche in the Oberhöchstädter Straße at 3pm.
Blood can be donated at the Red Cross in Oberursel on Friday, 9th February, 2018 between 3.30pm and 8pm. The Red Cross is located at Marxstraße 28, opposite the U-Bahn station “Lahnstraße”.
To donate you must be healthy and between 18 and 68 years of age. If you have not donated before, then you must not be over 60. You must take some form of identification with you, such as a passport, that contains a photo.

The Seniorentreff in the “Altes Hospital” (Hospitalstraße 9) will be holding a breakfast buffet on Friday, 9th February, 2018 between 9am and 10.30am, with food and drink costing €6 per person.
