Speed checks on the Kanonenstraße

The police in Oberursel (Ordnungspolizei) carried out speed checks on the Kanonenstraße towards the Feldberg last week.

On Friday, 15th June 2012, between 4.25pm and 6.10pm they measured the speed of 434 vehicles travelling towards the Sandplacken.

Only two of them were travelling too fast, with one car travelling at 117km/h. 80km/h are allowed. The driver faces a €80 fine and 1 point on their license.

Road Closures for the Brunnenfest

The following roads are closed from Thursday 31st May 9am until Tuesday 5th June

  • Am Rahmtor
  • Eppsteiner Straße
  • Weidengasse
  • Marktplatz
  • Ackergasse
  • Schlenkergasse
  • Portstraße
  • Heinestraße

The following roads are closed from Friday 1st June 6pm until Tuesday 5th June

  • Marienstraße
  • Hollerberg
  • Im Portugall
  • Marxstraße
  • Korfstraße
  • Obere Hainstraße
  • Homm-Kreisel (travelling towards Eppsteiner Straße)
  • Silcherstraße
  • Schulstraße

For both groups of roads residents should be able to access them until 6pm on Friday, between 1am and 12.30pm on Saturday, between 1am and 9am on Sunday, between 1am and 7pm on Monday.  Residents in the affected area can also collect a permit in the foyer of the Rathaus to allow them to park for free in the Altstadt and Stadthall car parks.

A number of other streets will be made one-way for the duration of the festival.

Those coming in cars should either use the normal car parks or the additional spaces on offer at the Rolls Royce field and the swimming pool.

On Friday, 18th May 2012, between 4.44pm and 6.45pm they measured the speed of 517 vehicles travelling towards either Oberursel or the Sandplacken.

15 of them were travelling too fast, with one motorcycle travelling at 107km/h. 80km/h are allowed. The driver faces a €70 fine and 1 points on their license.

Speed checks on the Kanonenstraße

The police in Oberursel (Ordnungspolizei) carried out speed checks on the Kanonenstraße towards the Feldberg in both directions last week.

On Friday, 4th May 2012, between 6.05pm and 8.30pm they measured the speed of 1149 vehicles travelling towards either Oberursel or the Sandplacken.

31 of them were travelling too fast, with one car travelling at 129km/h.  80km/h are allowed.  The driver faces a €160 fine, 3 points on their license and a one month driving ban.

The police in Oberursel (Ordnungspolizei) carried out speed checks on the Kanonenstraße towards the Feldberg in both directions last week.

On Friday, 20th April 2012, between 3.30pm and 5.30pm they measured the speed of 852 vehicles – 226 travelling towards Oberursel and 626 towards the Sandplacken.

17 of them were travelling too fast, with one motorcycle travelling at 114km/h, on a stretch of the road where only 80km/h are allowed!

Speed checks on the Kanonenstraße

The police in Oberursel (Ordnungspolizei) carried out speed checks on the Kanonenstraße towards the Feldberg in both directions last week.

On Thursday, 15th March 2012, between 6.15pm and 8pm they measured the speed of 504 vehicles – 136 travelling towards Oberursel and 368 towards the Sandplacken.

30 of them were travelling too fast, with one motorcycle travelling at 150km/h, on a stretch of the road where only 80km/h are allowed!

Police traffic checks in the Kurmainzer Straße

The police in Oberursel (Ordnungspolizei) carried out traffic checks in the Kurmainzer Straße on Wednesday.

Between 10.45am and 12.30pm they came across 8 cases of people not wearing a seat belt.  Each face a 30 Euro fine.

 

Epinayplatz opened to cyclists

The Epinayplatz in the centre of Oberursel has been opened up to cyclists.

Additional signs have been added to allow cyclists to use the bus lane which crosses the square on one side.

However cyclists are reminded that the square is technically a pedestrian zone and that they must reduce their speed accordingly when travelling across it.  Failure to do so or to take proper consideration for the pedestrians using the square can result in a fine.

Police traffic checks on the Kanonenstraße

The police in Oberursel (Ordnungspolizei) carried out traffic checks on the Kanonenstraße towards the Feldberg yesterday.

Between 11am and 12.55pm they stopped 12 vehicles, none of which gave them cause to issue any fines.

The police in Oberursel (Ordnungspolizei) carried out traffic checks in the Zimmersmühlenweg yesterday.

Between 10.20am and 11.45am they came across 4 cases of people not wearing a seat belt (30 Euro fine) and 1 person who was using a mobile phone whilst driving (40 Euro fine and 1 point).
