Ilse Schwarz-Schiller (Chairperson of the Chopin Gesellschaft Taunus), Hans-Georg Brum (Mayor) and Jolanta Róża Kozłowska (Polish Consul) at the presentation ceremony

The Mayor of Oberursel Hans-Georg Brum has been presented with the medal of the Polish minister for culture and national heritage.  The medal is awarded to those who have made a special contribution to Polish culture.  The current Polish minister Bogdan Zdrojewski awarded the medal to Hans-Georg Brum for his services in popularising the music of the composer Frédéric Chopin.  It was presented by the Polish Consul in Germany, Jolanta Róża Kozłowska.

Area of the town centre dedicated to Chopin: The Chopin-Platz

The official dedication of the Chopin-Platz

The official dedication of the Chopin-Platz with the Polish consul (2nd from right).

An area of Oberursel at the end of the Holzweg has been dedicated to the Polish composer Chopin and from today will be called the Chopin-Platz.  Polish consul Jolanta Róża Kozłowska attended the dedication ceremony.

Kevin Kenner plays Chopin and Debussy in the Stadthalle

Musical notes - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / snehitdesignAmerican pianist Kevin Kenner will be playing pieces by Chopin and Debussy in the Stadthalle in Oberursel on Sunday, 4th March, 2012 at 8pm.  An introductory talk will be held at 7pm by Gerhard Schroth, also a pianist.
