English Baking Afternoon at Helen Doron Early English

The Helen Doron Early English centre in Oberursel’s station will be holding an English Baking Afternoon for children aged between 5 and 10, regardless of their level of English, on Saturday, 14th December, 2013 between 2pm and 6pm.

Together they will be baking biscuits, making Christmas decorations, and singing songs together – and learning English at the same time.

To take part, children need to be registered by 12th December with Nicole Greifenstein (n.greifenstein@web.de) and the afternoon costs 15 Euro per child.

I love you, blue kangaroo!


Helen Doron Early English are offering an interactive story hour on Saturday, 29th June, 2013 at 3.30pm.

The story is “I love you, blue kangaroo!” and the afternoon is aimed at children between 4 and 7 years old. The children will be introduced to the main vocabulary in the story and will be singing, dancing and making things associated with it.

To take part you need to register your child by Thursday, 27th June by calling 06171 699986. There will be a charge of €5 per child which includes a drink and a snack and the cost of materials.

 

Story Hour at Helen Doron Early English

Helen Doron Early English in Oberursel will be holding a “Interactive Story Hour” for children in classes 4 to 6 with the story of “The Wizard of Oz” on Saturday, 26th January, 2013 at 5.15pm.

After going over the relevant vocabulary, the adventure will begin, during which the children will sing, make things, and will also have a snack and a drink.

To take part children should be registered by Thursday, 24th January by calling 06171 699986 or sending an e-mail to office.oberursel@helendoron.de.  The cost is €5 per child.

Helen Doron Early English is located in the old station building at “Platz der Deutschen Einheit”.

St.Martin’s Lantern Procession with Helen Doron Early English

Helen Doron Early English’s Mini-Kindergarten is holding a lantern procession for children between the ages of 18 months and 4 years on Thursday, 8th November at 5pm.

The meeting point is at the upper end of the green strip in the Adenauerallee, in front of house number 21.

They will be accompanied by St.Martin on his pony for a short walk to a bonfire where they will sing sings in both English and German.  Warm drinks will be available as will typical St.Martin’s “Weckmänner” – a sort of gingerbread man made out of dough.

Guests are welcome, although a donation is requested from anyone who does not attend the kindergarten.

Straight Bourbon – Rhythm ‘n’ Blues at the Hessentag

They will be performing at the Polizei-Bistro at the Hessentag in Oberursel on Sunday, 19th June at 8pm, and have confirmed to us on Twitter that they will be performing in English.

The stage is located at the corner of the Oberhöchstädterstraße and Korfstraße, near the police station.  The nearest U-Bahn stations are “Stadtmitte” and “Oberursel Bahnhof”.
