A 3,000 step walk for senior citizens is taken place in Stierstadt on Tuesday, 13th August, 2013.
To take part, be at the bus stop “Altes Rathaus” in Stierstadt at 3pm.
One of the remaining hurdles in selling the sports field known as the “Altkönigsportplatz” was removed last week when the sports club that had originally set it up signed a contract with the town to relinquish their right to use it in exchange for other benefits.
The TSGO (Turn- und Sportgemeinde 1861 e.V. Oberursel) had been using the field since 23rd July, 1933, when it was official opened by the then so-called “Jahngemeinschaft”. They had purchased the land in 1927, although it was not as large as the field is now.
In 1953 the sports field was expanded and a deal was struck with the town by which the TSGO land became the town’s property in return usage rights.

A rock concert is being held in the Rushmoor-Park on Friday, 9th August, 2013 at 7.30pm.

The event is part of the Orscheler Sommer organised by Kunstgriff e.V.
The Dampfbahnclub-Taunus e.V. steam railway in Oberursel will be open to the public on Sunday, 11th August, 2013 between 10am and 5pm.
Located at the end of the Mainstraße, entry costs €1,50 for adults and €0,50 for children. Children receive one ticket to go on the trains in the entry price, additional tickets are €0,50 each.
To get there, either leave the A661/B455 at “Oberursel-Nord” towards Oberursel, then take the first turning right into the Dornbachstraße. The Mainstraße is on the right-hand side.
By U-Bahn, take the U3 to Lahnstraße and cross the road before turning left into the Dornbachstraße.

A tour entitled “Das keltische Leben am Fuße des Feldbergs” (celtic life at the foot of the Feldberg) is being held on Saturday, 10th August, 2013 at 2pm.
The tour starts at the Taunus Information Centre and costs €5 per person, those taking part should have sturdy footwear.
The Seniorentreff in Oberursel will be offering a 3,000 step walk on Wednesday, 7th August, 2013.
To take part, be at the Christuskirche in the Oberhöchstädter Straße at 3pm.
The Seniorentreff in Oberursel will be offering an afternoon of Bingo on Thursday, 8th August, 2013 between 2.30pm and 4.30pm in the “Altes Hospital” (Hospitalstraße 9).
Anyone who is interested is invited to come along and try their luck!
The Café Portstrasse team are organising outdoor games for children and teenagers aged 12 and over in the Camp King area on Tuesday, 6th August, 2013.
The meeting point is the “Boule” circle, opposite the Kinderhaus, at 4pm.
Blood can be donated at the Red Cross in Oberursel on Saturday, 10th August, 2013 between 1.30pm and 6pm. The Red Cross is located at Marxstraße 28, opposite the U-Bahn station “Lahnstraße”.
To donate you must be healthy and between 18 and 68 years of age. If you have not donated before, then you must not be over 60. You must take some form of identification with you, such as a passport, that contains a photo.
