As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. For Tuesday, 5th September 2017, we are told that it will be a musical. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.

The showing starts at 9pm.

Matilda and the Wunderkinder at the Grammar School

There are just a few hours left until the premiere performance of the school musical “Miracle – Wunderkinder” at Oberursel’s grammar school, and the cast and crew have been reheasing intensely for the past few days to get everything perfect.

Matilda is a gifted child but has parents who are of little means.  She likes to read, but there is only one book in the house: “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” by Mark Twain.  She is fascinated by the main figure in the book, who becomes a role model for her.  Later she is able to read other children’s books and also takes on some of the qualities of characters in them as well. School Musical in the Stadthalle

Pupils from year 6 of the IGS school in Stierstadt will be staging their music “Kommisar Schimpanski” in the Stadthalle on Thursday, 15th May at 10am and Friday, 16th May, 2014 at 7pm.

Tickets costs €10 for adults and €5 for children aged 6 and over.

Kinderkulturnacht – A night of culture for Children

In celebration of Universal Children’s Day (Weltkindertag) the town’s children’s office (Kinderbüro) joined forces with the culture and sport supports’ club and the Lions club to create the a night of culture for Children at locations around the market square in Oberursel that was held on Friday, 21st September, 2012.

The evening began  at 6pm at the market (Marktplatz) with the official opening by the clown-duo “Spunk”.  After that there were Zumba sessions, fire-breathing workshops, a children’s musical and a balloon release to highlight children’s rights.

At the town’s library, next to the market square, the film “Der rote Ballon” (The Red Balloon) was shown.

The evening was unfortunately cut short when it started to rain at 9pm.

Die vier Jahreszeiten – The Four Seasons – A Children’s Musical

Musical notes - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / snehitdesignDie vier Jahreszeiten (The Four Seasons) is a children’s musical being performed at the Stadthalle in Oberursel on Sunday, 22nd April, 2012 at 3pm.

The performers are aged between 4 and 13 and come from 5 different nations.

Tickets costs 8EUR for adults and 3EUR for children.

Bi-lingual musical pantomime – Hansel and Gretel

Drama and Comedy - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / lenmA bi-lingual (German and English) musical version of “Hansel and Gretel” is being organised Helen Doron’s Early English school on Sunday, 2nd October 2011 between 3pm and 5pm.

The musical is being held in the Taunushalle in Oberstedten (Landwehr 4) and entry is free thanks to the support of local sponsors, although a donation for the “Clown Doktoren” is requested.

And whilst the children and teachers of the school will be the ones on the stage, audience participation will play a big part – as you might expect in a pantomime!*

Doors open at 2.40pm.

Hinweis für deutschsprachigen Leser: es handelt sich um den Britischen Theaterform “Pantomime”, was mit dem deutschen Begriff “Pantomime” nicht vergleichbar ist.
