The choir “Cantauris” from Stierstadt will be holding a concert in the ruins of the Johanniskirche in Weißkirchen on Saturday, 19th July, 2014 at 7pm.
They will be performing a mixture of classical and modern songs, among them titles from the Beatles and Wise Guys.
Entry is free, doors open at 6.30pm, but a donation is requested.
A number of roadworks and a reduction in railway services is set to affect Oberursel and the surrounding area in the coming weeks.
The main problem for car drivers will probably be the closure of the B456 between the junction with the L3003 (the exit to Oberstedten) and the crossroads in Dornholzhausen. This section is due to be closed from Friday, 11th July until Sunday, 20th July, 2014.
Not only may local residents expect some noise, as the work will continue at night and the weekends, but there is a local festival (“Kerb”) taking placed in Oberstedten with additional road closures to be expected there as well. [Read more…]

An evening of muscial cabaret with Duo Camillo is taking place on Saturday, 17th May, 2014 at 7pm in the ruins of the Johanniskirche in Weißkirchen.
Tickets costs €12 each and doors open at 6.30pm.

Blood can be donated at the fire station in Weißkirchen (part of Oberursel) on Wednesday, 26th December, 2013 between 1pm and 5pm. The fire station is located at Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Strasse 2a.
To donate you must be healthy and between 18 and 68 years of age. If you have not donated before, then you must not be over 60. You must take some form of identification with you, such as a passport, that contains a photo.

The music group “Germania 1873 Weißkirchen/Ts e.V.” are holding a concert to celebrate their 140th anniversary on Sunday, 17th November, 2013 at 5pm in the sports hall of the “TV Weißkirchen”, which is located at Oberurseler Straße 16.
Among the groups singing will be the pop and jazz choir “Tontauben”.
Entry is free but a donation is requested.
