Once a month the Bluebox Portstraße holds a Sunday morning breakfast buffet in their cinema.
As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. For Sunday, 7th December, 2013, we are told that it will be a turbulent US comedy. If you do want to know which film will be shown or to reserve tickets call 06171 636930.
The showing starts at 11.30am and they are located opposite the U-Bahn stop “Altstadt”.
The tastes of smells of Christmas – cinnamon, vanilla, aniseed are just some of those associated with the festive season in Germany.
On Friday, 6th December, 2013 between 3.30pm and 5.30pm will have a chance to find out more about them at the Kinderbüro, behind the library in Eppsteiner Straße 16-18.

A Kabishibai Theatre performance for children aged 3 and over will take place in Oberursel’s library on Saturday, 7th December, 2013 at 11am.
“Kabishibai” is Japanese and means “paper drama”. A story is told using a small stage and pictures on cards inserted into it.
The story on Saturday is St.Nicholas Day and afterwards the children will be able to make simple Christmas decorations.
The performance will last about 45 minutes and tickets costing €2 each are available at the library or by calling 06171 62870.
The Verbraucherzentrale (consumers’ association) will be offering individual energy saving consultations in the Rathaus in Oberursel on Thursday, 5th December, 2013.
Appointments cost €5 for 30 minutes, and €2.50 for each 15 minutes after that. They need to be arranged in advance by calling 06171 502-310.
There will be a chance to discuss the future of the station area, the “Bahnhofsareal”, with other citizens of Oberursel on Wednesday, 4th December, 2013 at 7pm in the town hall (Rathaus) where a “Bürgerdialog” is being held.
The area concerned stretches from the flyover at the “Drei Hasen” to the end of the Nassauer Straße which may later join up with the “Weingärtenumgehung”.
During the evening the town’s administration will be informing the people of Oberursel about the current concept for the flow of traffic in the area and giving them a chance to put forward their own opinions about it.

A tour of the old town (Altstadt) part of Oberursel is being offered on Saturday, 7th December, 2013 at 2pm.
The tour starts in front of the Vortaunusmuseum at the Marktplatz at 2pm and costs €3 per person.
There will be a book flea market in Oberursel’s library on Saturday, 7th December, 2013 between 10am and 1pm with proceeds going to the library’s supporters’ association.
The library is located at one end of the market square in Oberursel, in the Eppsteinerstraße.
The nearest car parks are “Bleiche” and in the Holzweg. The nearest train station is Altstadt (U3).
The Seniorentreff in Oberursel will be offering a 3,000 step walk on Wednesday, 5th December, 2013.
To take part, be at the Christuskirche in the Oberhöchstädter Straße at 3pm.
