Roads closed, trains and buses cancelled on 1st May

With both the cycle race “Rund um den Finanzplatz Eschborn-Frankfurt” and the “Altstadt-Duathlon” taking place in Oberursel on Sunday, 1st May, 2016, a number of roads will be closed with changes to public transport services as well.

The following roads will be closed or inaccessible between approximately 8am until 5pm:

  • The Elite group pass the U-Bahn level crossing on the Hohemarkstraße during the cycle race Rund um den Finanzplatz Eschborn-Frankfurt on Thursday, 1st May, 2014.Königsteiner Straße between the B455 and Altkönigstraße
  • Am Rahmtor
  • Wiederholtstraße
  • Eppsteiner Straße
  • Obere Hainstraße
  • Bleiche
  • An der Herrenmühle
  • Altkönigstraße (between Königsteiner Straße and Steinmühlenweg)
  • Obergasse
  • An der Burg
  • Obere Schulstraße
  • Marienstraße
  • St.Ursula-Gasse
  • Hollerberg
The market square will be closed from 7am to 6.30pm.
The following roads will not be closed themselves but will be affected by the other closures:
  • Füllerstraße
  • Strackgasse
  • Weidengasse
  • Ackergasse
  • Untere Hainstraße
  • Neutorallee
  • Schillerstraße
  • Brüder-Winter-Straße
  • Herzog-Adolf-Straße

Finally, the following roads will be closed between 9.30am and 2pm:

  • Homburger Landstraße (towards Oberursel)
  • Nassauer Straße
  • Feldbergstraße
  • Hohemarkstraße
  • Kanonenstraße
It will also not be possible to enter or leave Stierstadt or Weißkirchen from 9.30am until 1pm, except for the emergency services.
Anyone travelling on Sunday should plan their journey in advance to avoid problems due to the closures, or park their car outside of the area in advance.
Public transport

The U-Bahn U3 will terminate at “Bahnhof Oberursel” between 8.30am and 2.30pm.  There will be no trains between the station and the “Hohemark” end of the line.

Buses 41 and 42 will not be running until after 2.20pm, with the 42 route being diverted along the Hohemarkstraße and Dornbachstraße, rather than the normal route along the Altkönigstraße.

Swimming pool

As the TaunaBad car park will be inaccessible to road traffic for part of the day, the pool will be opening at 9am to allow the guests in earlier than usual.
