Water supply renewal means diversions and changes to bus route

The water mains at the northern end of Oberursel is due to be overhauled in the coming weeks, resulting in diversions and a change to one of the bus routes.

Starting on Tuesday, 29th March, 2016 traffic travelling out of the town along the Hohemarkstraße will be diverted along the residential road “Im Rosengärtchen” where the right-of-way will be changed at places.  Traffic entering the town will remain on the Hohemarkstraße.  Additional roadworks will be in the road “An der Waldlust” where it crosses the Altkönigstraße.

The bus route 42 travelling from the cemetery towards “Weißkirchen-Ost” will use Hohemarkstraße instead of “Im Rosengärtchen”, with a replacement bus stop opposite the U-Bahn stop “Rosengärtchen”.  The route in the other direction is not affected.

The work is expected to be completed by Friday, 22nd April, 2016.

Night-time Maintenance on the U-Bahn Rails

Urgent maintenance work will be carried out on the U-Bahn track between the stations “Rosengärtchen” and “Waldlust” starting on Monday night, 17th March, 2014 and on the following three nights.

Local residents have complained about the state of the rails, so these are going to be so that a “rail-grinding” machine will be used to restore their surface.

The machine will make a certain amount of noise, although we are told it is “not comparable to a pneumatic drill”.

U3 partially replaced by buses on Saturday

The U-Bahn line U3 will only operate as far as Kupferhammer on Saturday, 16th November and 23rd November, 2013 between 8am and 4pm to allow for work on the trees to take place.

Between Kupferhammer and Hohemark a replacement bus service will be in operation.

Flea Market at Frankfurt International School

A flea market is being held at Frankfurter International School on Saturday, 16th November, 2013 at 11am.

The market is a good chance to stock up on English language literature, picture books, and games, with the 50 stalls also selling clothing, toys, videos and DVDs.

The market will open until 3pm and proceeds will go to the organisation “Hopes and Homes for Children”.

Please note that the U-Bahn line U3 will not be running to “Waldlust” on Saturday but a replacement bus service will be in operation with trains terminating at “Kupferhammer”.

Boy mugged in the U-Bahn

A 12-year-old boy was attacked in the U-Bahn (U3) on Tuesday, 24th September, 2013.  The attack took place between the stops “Waldlust” and “Lahnstraße” just before 6pm.

The attacker is described as a man, around 1.80m or 1.85m tall, well built, with a black beard.  He was wearing black trousers, a black jumper with a hood, and coloured Adidas trainers.

According to police, he hit the boy in the stomach and then took his keys before leaving the train at the “Lahnstraße” station.  Luckily the boy was not hurt.

Detectives in Bad Homburg would like to hear from anyone who can identify the man on 06172 1200.
