Donate Blood

Blood - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / iqonceptBlood can be donated at the Red Cross in Oberursel on Friday, 11th November 2016 between 3.30pm and 8pm. The Red Cross is located at Marxstraße 28, opposite the U-Bahn station “Lahnstraße”.

To donate you must be healthy and between 18 and 68 years of age. If you have not donated before, then you must not be over 60. You must take some form of identification with you, such as a passport, that contains a photo.

Changes to the U-Bahn route (U3) at the weekend

Due to permanent way work on the line the U3 will be running along a different route this coming weekend.

On Saturday, 5th November, 2016 and Sunday, 6th November, 2016, between 7am and midnight the line will start as usual at Oberursel-Hohemark and continue towards Frankfurt.  After the “Wiesenau” stop, however, it will divert onto the U1 line and terminate at Ginnheim.

A bus shuttle service will be in operation between Heddernheimer Landstraße and Heddernheim.

To get to Frankfurt city centre, either use the bus connection and continue on the U-Bahn from Heddernheim, or continue in the U3/U1 to Ginnheim and change there to tram line 16.  Alternatively, use the S-Bahn S5 from Oberursel to Frankfurt.

 

3,000 step walk for senior citizens

To take part, be at the Christuskirche in the Oberhöchstädter Straße at 3pm.

To take part, be at the bus stop “Altes Rathaus” in Stierstadt at 3pm.

Tuesday night cinema at Bluebox Portstraße

As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. For Tuesday, 8th November, 2016, we are told that it will be a “a brazilian comedy“. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.

The showing starts at 9pm.

Take a tour around the Hohemark

A tour around the area known as the “Hohemark” is being offered on Saturday, 5th November, 2016, at 2pm.

The tour will be guided by Gottfried Cramer from the Hohe Mark clinic.

It starts at the end station of the U3 line and costs €3 per person.

Tuesday night cinema at Bluebox Portstraße

On Tuesday, 1st November, 2016, the film “Als Frankfurt die Hauptstadt des Jazz war” with Jochen Hasmanis will be shown at 9pm.

Book flea market at the library

The library is located at one end of the market square in Oberursel, in the Eppsteinerstraße.

The nearest car parks are “Bleiche” and in the Holzweg. The nearest train station is Altstadt (U3).

Children’s cinema in the Portstrasse

The bluebox is located opposite the U-Bahn station “Altstadt” (formerly “Portstraße”).

 

Take a tour of Oberursel’s old town

The Bleiche in Oberursels old townA tour of the old town (Altstadt) part of Oberursel is being offered on Saturday, 5th November, 2016 at 2pm.

The tour starts in front of the Vortaunusmuseum at the Marktplatz at 2pm and costs €3 per person.
