Take a tour of Oberursel’s old town

The Bleiche in Oberursels old town

A tour of the old town (Altstadt) part of Oberursel is being offered on Saturday, 8th January, 2022 at 2pm.

The tour starts in front of the Vortaunusmuseum at the Marktplatz at 2pm and costs €5 per person.

Due to corona restrictions, anyone wishing to take part should register in advance by calling 06171 502-232 or writing to tourismus@oberursel.de by 7th January. Spaces are limited to 10 people per guide. Face masks are recommended, as is a negative COVID-19 test.

Drunk driver injured in Weißkirchen

The 26-year-old driver of a Ford Cougar was travelling along the Kurmainzer Straße last Thursday night (7th March, 2013), when his car came off the road and hit a Honda Civic.

The driver, who police describe as being drunk, was slightly injured.  Police confiscated his driving license and took a blood sample.

Both cars were damaged considerably, with the damage estimated at €5,500.

 

Weekly market returns to market place

As the ice and snow have now gone the weekly market will return to the Marktplatz this Saturday, 2nd February, 2013.

 

3,000 step walk for senior citizens in Stierstadt

To take part, be at the bus stop “Altes Rathaus” in Stierstadt at 3pm.

Energy saving advice

Oberursel RathausThe Verbraucherzentrale (consumers’ association) will be offering individual energy saving consultations in the Rathaus in Oberursel on Thursday, 6th December, 2012 between 2pm and 6pm.

Appointments cost €5 for 30 minutes, and €2.50 for each 15 minutes after that. They need to be arranged in advance by calling 06171 502-310.

 

Book reading for children aged 5 and over

The book “Mama Muh liest” is being read at the library in Oberursel for children aged 5 and over by volunteer Susanne Herrmann on Saturday, 25th August, 2012 at 11am.

Entry costs €3, and as places are limited anyone wishing to take their children should register in advance by calling 06171 62870 or in person at the library.

After the reading the children will be decorating letters of the alphabet to hang up in the library.
