84 year old woman bitten by dog

A 84-year-old woman was injured in the Karl-Hermann-Flach-Straße on Wednesday, 10th January, 2018 at around 5pm when she was bitten by a dog that was not on a lead. Not only did she suffer a number of bites, but also injured her pelvis resulting in her being taken to hospital where she was kept in for treatment.

Her dog, a Havenese, was also attacked and underwent an emergency operation at an animal clinic.

Police have since found out that that the dog that attacked them was a Romanian sheepdog, that belonged to a 72-year-old man from Frankfurt. The dog had been left on a fenced-property on the end of Oberursel, where he had left it at around 4pm. It is not yet clear how the dog got out, but apparently it was shot by police shortly after they arrived at the scene. The owner is now being investigated for assault through negligence and police are asking for witnesses who saw the dog before the attack took place to call them on 06171 62400.

Drunk driver injured in Weißkirchen

The 26-year-old driver of a Ford Cougar was travelling along the Kurmainzer Straße last Thursday night (7th March, 2013), when his car came off the road and hit a Honda Civic.

The driver, who police describe as being drunk, was slightly injured.  Police confiscated his driving license and took a blood sample.

Both cars were damaged considerably, with the damage estimated at €5,500.

 

Cyclist attacked between Oberhöchstadt and Oberursel

On Monday, 15th October, 2012 at around 2.45pm, a 46 year old woman from Oberhöchstadt was cycling along the cycle path from the “Waldsiedlung” towards Oberursel on her mountain bike, when she noticed a man on a mountain bike approaching her from behind.

When he was level with her, he grabbed the strap of her rucksack so hard, that she fell to the ground and injured herself.  The man continued to pull on the rucksack and once he had pulled it free he fled towards Stierstadt.

The man is described as follows: North African appearance, 20-25 years old, slim, 175-180cm tall, short dark hair and a long nose.  He was wearing a black jacket with a hood, faded blue jeans and white trainers.  His mountain bike was blue and red with large letters on the frame.

The rucksack contained over €200 in cash, ID card and a monthly RMV ticket.

Cyclist seriously injured on the Hohemarkstraße

A 68 year old cyclist from Bad Homburg was seriously injured on the Hohemarkstraße on Tuesday evening.

According to police he was riding on the cycle path uphill near house number 83, heading for “Im Heidegraben”, when for some unknown reason he suddenly moved onto the main road.

He was hit by a Ford Focus which was travelling parallel to him at the time, driven by a 26 year old.

As a result of the collection the cyclist suffered severe head injuries and was treated at the scene by a doctor before being taken by ambulance to the accident clinic in Frankfurt.

The car suffered considerable damage and the bicycle is a write-off, with the total damage estimated at around €7,000.

The Hohemarkstraße was closed in both directions for about half an hour.
